Jidenna Returns with Enthralling Second Album "85 To Africa"

October 23, 2019 | By Thenet.ng

Jidenna has finally returned with a long-awaited second album and the third project altogether titled ’85 To Africa’ today and it is a mix of genres.

The former ‘Classic Man’ turned ‘hot boy summer’ is releasing this new work of art as a follow-up to 2017’s ‘Boomerang EP’ and his first studio album since ‘The Chief’, which was also released that same year.

The album which is a fusion of different genres of music is awesome to vibe to and has something for everyone. The album has some trap music, RnB, hip-hop and Afrobeats. There are 11 songs on the album and only 4 of those songs have featured artists on them. Nigeria’s Mr Eazi and late Fela Kuti’s son, Seun Kuti are featured on the album.

Speaking during a radio interview, Jidenna explained the album as road trip music. He said, “it’s a highway across the Atlantic ocean and its road trip music. So if you took a road trip literally across the Atlantic, you will start with Hip-hop, you’ll probably start with trap, you might move to some RnB and then you’re gonna land with Afro Beats.”
